1. Prepare a written plan.
  2. Create a plan for each month.
  3. Each week put on your calendar what client development activities you plan to do, how much time you will devote and when you will do them.

  5. Get out of your office and visit your most important clients, referral sources and contacts.
  6. Read what your clients are reading.
  7. Attend at least one client industry meeting.
  8. Join and become active in a Bar, Community, or Industry Association.
  9. If you are on them, complete your profile including a photo on LinkedIn, Twitter and any other social media site you are using. Learn how to effectively use those sites.
  10. Remember to say “Thank You” and “What else can I do to help you?”
  11. Repurpose content you have created that is still relevant
  12. Quit saying: “I need to…” I have to…” I’ve got to…” Like Nike says: “Just do it”
