- Prepare a written plan.
- Create a plan for each month.
- Each week put on your calendar what client development activities you plan to do, how much time you will devote and when you will do them.

- Get out of your office and visit your most important clients, referral sources and contacts.
- Read what your clients are reading.
- Attend at least one client industry meeting.
- Join and become active in a Bar, Community, or Industry Association.
- If you are on them, complete your profile including a photo on LinkedIn, Twitter and any other social media site you are using. Learn how to effectively use those sites.
- Remember to say “Thank You” and “What else can I do to help you?”
- Repurpose content you have created that is still relevant
- Quit saying: “I need to…” I have to…” I’ve got to…” Like Nike says: “Just do it”
