Do you feel stuck in your client development efforts and never seem to get started? You might be suffering from “decision paralysis.” If you want to learn more about it, read Making Strategy Simple. In the article you will see that the more choices you have, the more likely you are to freeze up and go with the path of least resistance.
Here’s the problem: You have way more choices on how to spend your client development time than ever before and you have way less time available. I won’t make a list of all the choices you have for the obvious reason it will be harder for you to choose what to do.
Here is what I want you to do: Make a choice on how you will spend your client development time over the next 90 days from this list:
- Research problems, opportunities or changes that may impact your clients and potential clients and write an article or blog post, or
- Find a charity or community organization you are passionate about, join and actively participate,or
- Go to lunch or have coffee with a different potential client, referral source or friend each week.
Try it. Just pick one of the three choices above and go for it.
