My wife, Nancy, and I spent a long 4th of July weekend at Old Baldy in Wyoming. While I was there I received this email from J.W. Marriott, Jr. As you will see there is a web site for me to complete a survey on my recent stay at the Norwalk Marriott. Even though I have more time when I am at Old Baldy than when I am working, do you think I will actually complete the survey? Do you think I will even open the web site where the survey is located? Why do you suppose I will not take the time?
Thank you for your loyalty as a Marriott Rewards Silver member and for choosing Marriott for your recent trip. It is our goal to completely satisfy our guests on every stay. We value your opinion and invite you to take a few minutes to share your feedback about your experience at the Norwalk Marriott beginning June 23, 2006.
To access the guest survey, click here. If your e-mail program does not support links, type in the following address: If you are asked to enter a password, your password is CPAJ74542R.
Your feedback will be used by the hotel and our corporate office in the United States to improve Marriott products and services. By completing this survey, you may be contacted by the hotel to help improve the quality of service provided. We sincerely thank you for sharing your opinions as we continue to do our best to provide you with the ultimate hotel experience.

I have always wanted feedback from clients. However, I have never believed in client surveys as a means of getting feedback from clients. Instead of using a form, I ask either in person or over the phone. I have never asked a client to complete a form for me.
