I learned about client development from making mistakes. That is how I learned this key tip. In client meetings, when you want to add something to what is being said:

  • Stop
  • Wait
  • Listen
  • Ask another question

Eventually, your client will ask what you think. At that point your response is far more powerful (and maybe even more insightful) than the point you would have made earlier. Try this approach at your next client meeting.
