I am still coaching lawyers when asked, but only if I am confident they are highly motivated to learn and to develop their career and business.
Over the years, I became a well-known speaker, writer, and blogger on career development and client development. I made presentations to law firms and bar associations throughout the US and Canada. I published four books on career and client development and wrote a column Practical Success for the Practical Lawyer.
I began my law practice in 1971 and I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.
I loved my law practice and my clients, but in 2003 I started coaching lawyers in my old law firm. We set a goal of doubling their originations in two years. When we reached the goal in one year, I decided I wanted to help lawyers succeed full time.
I started my full-time coaching practice in January of 2005. Since 2005, I have coached well over 1000 lawyers in US and Canadian law firms. I coached lawyers in firms as large as 1000 or more lawyers in big cities and firms with 10 or fewer lawyers in smaller cities.
I’m passionate about helping lawyers be more successful. It is incredibly rewarding to see it happen.
